The ABC of Recruitment Agencies
What is a recruitment agency?
A recruitment agency is an intermediary or middleman between an organisation that is looking to employ someone and an individual who is looking for a job. In recruitment agencies' language, the organisation to employ is called "client" while the individual to look for a job is called "candidate". Hence, a recruitment agency’s main function is to source the most suitable candidate for a job vacancy that the client asks the agency to fill.
How does a recruitment agency work?
1. A client asks the agency to fill a position;
2. The agency outlines the role and responsibilities of the position with the client;
3. The agency sources candidates from different channels and provides a shortlist to the client;
4. The client selects the preferred candidates;
5. The agency to lineup job interviews between clients and candidates;
6. The agency to provide win-win solutions and close the deal when an offer is made by the client to a candidate.
